Summer 2023

Throughout the summer, there are plenty of events taking place - the main ones being:

June:

  • Tour de France (19th July in Courchevel)

Winter 2022/23

The ski lifts in Courchevel officially open on 3rd December and no COVID restrictions will be in place i.e. no face masks on lifts are required. There has been snowfall across the Alps already which is building excitement for the season to start!

Summer in Courchevel

Courchevel offers a plethora of exciting activities throughout summer. Spring has officially sprung in Courchevel!

Face masks are no longer mandatory on drag and chair lifts

From 9th February 2022, face masks are no longer required on open-air ski lifts in France, however it is recommended to still wear them in queues for ski lifts. It is still mandatory to wear a ski lift in enclosed spaces such as cable cars.

Brits are back on the slopes!

The French government lifted the UK travel ban on 14th January 2022. UK tourists are no longer required to provide an essential reason to travel to France, nor will they need to self-isolate on arrival. However, a negative covid test must be shown.

Lift-system open 7-days a week

From the 4th July - 27th August, the lift-system will be open 7 days a week from 9:30am - 4:30/45pm. During the summer months, the lifts are slightly more restricted but still gives mountain access to bikers, hikers and anyone who wants to have an explore!

Summer Producers Market 2021

Every Monday and Wednesday, 8am - 1pm, throughout July and August there will be a producers and craftmanship market in Le Praz. The market is to promote the sale of local produce whilst providing a great service to residents and holiday makers.

Preparation for 2023 Alpine Ski World Championships

Courchevel will be the host to the 2023 World Championships. There has been continuous work in Le Praz since 2018 to prepare for this major event. The brand new L’Alpinum building will be the finish line for the downhill course.

New Ski Lift Upgrades

In December 2019, Le Praz opened a brand new 10-person gondola which, for the first time, will allow people direct transport from Le Praz to 1850 in less than six minutes. The gondola shall be open outside the usual ski lift hours - 07:45 until 23:30 - making the wonders of 1850 more accessible.

L’Alpinum

L’Alpinum is a brand new building with a wide range of facilities situated next to the lake. These facilities include, additional parking, a sports field and a track which can be used for skating, walking and all kinds of events throughout the winter and summer months.
